Three Journalists; Atia Tilarious Azohnwi, Political Desk Editor of The Sun Newspaper, Amos Fofung of The Guardian Post and Ndong from Bamenda and seven other persons have been transferred to the Kondengui maximum prison following their arrest last February 9.

The Journalists and few others were taken from their detention center at the Judicial Police in Elig Esono, Centre region where they have been detained since February and made a brief stop at the Military Court in Yaoundé before transporting them onboard a police van by 6pm to the maximum prison in Kondengui.

Atia Tilarius, Amos Fofung and Ndong were arrested on Thursday February 9, 2017 in Molyko Buea when Police stormed the residence of Fofung arresting them on grounds that Mr Ndong has with him bags containing flyers calling for boycott of all activities in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon. It is alleged that the Journalists were working for some group of persons resident in Cameroon and abroad.

They were taken to the Buea central Police Station before subsequent transfer to Yaoundé at the Elig Esono Judicial Police Station.

But the charges against them have not been made clear.

About eight Journalists are now at the Kondegui prison since the crisis rocking the two English speaking regions began.
