It started like a dream but quickly became a reality.

New York based Nora Ndemazia, 23, from the South West region has been crowned Miss Cameroon USA 2014, thus becoming the most beautiful Cameroon woman in the United States. It was in front of an enthusiastic crowd of hundreds of Cameroonians and friends of Cameroon who thronged the Hampton Conference Center in Maryland to witness the spectacular even that Ndemazia received the Miss Cameroon USA Pageant crown she had longed and work hard for. This, she did, by outwitting 10 other finalists on Apr 5. Ndemazia who succeeds former Miss Cameroon USA Queen Larissa Ngangoum says her mission is to ensure quality education for orphans in Cameroon. “To eliminate the sorrows of the left out thousands, I make it my mission to identify desperate orphans in Cameroon and reach out to their educational needs. No orphan deserves to be left behind as they also have natural human rights to Life, Liberty, and Property,” she stresses.

As the new Cameroon beauty queen in USA, Nora Ndemazia will represent Cameroon at the Miss Africa USA Pageant in August 2014 and will also be competing in 2015 Miss Cameroon World Pageant in Yaounde for an opportunity to represent Cameroon in the Miss World Competition. Occupying second and third spots respectively were Miss Heidi Time, an exceptional young lady and full time Social Science/Healthcare Management student residing in Virginia and Nadege Ngam, full time student in Maryland specializing in Speech Pathology. While the mission of Heidi Time is to mentor young boys and girls and be a great role model, Ngam hopes to help Rape Victims get the help they need. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs Richard and Helen Fualefock, Nora Ndemazia grew up in Buea, chief town of Cameroon South West region and is a graduate of Seat of Wisdom College in the same region where she graduated in 2009. She moved to the United States of America for further Education and settled in New York where she is a full time Law Student at City University New York (CUNY). Majoring in Paralegal studies, Ndemazia says her career aspirations are to work hard to become a successful corporate/Business Lawyer, a diplomat and a woman of power. Organizers say the competition was very tough and featured categories such as Public Speaking, Talent, Fashion and Interviews. Miss Cameroon USA is an initiative of Lady Kate Atabong Ndi who was recently appointed Commissioner for African Affairs by the Governor of the State of Maryland, USA.
