Decree No. 2019/307 of June 18, 2019 appointed Mr Herbert Apande Ediage as the Board Chair of SOWEDA to fill the vacancy left by the death of Noah Mbongo Molongo in 2016.
Decree no. 2019/308 of June 18, 2019 appointed Besong Ogork Ntui as Director of SOWEDA in replacement of Dr. Andrew Eneme Ngome who has been in that capacity since 1995.
The Man Besong Ogork Ntui
56-year-old Besong Ogork Ntui is a seasoned rural development and environmental professional of exceptional class. Before his appointment as Director of SOWEDA last June 18, he was project coordinator and team leader of the Agricultural Infrastructure and Value Chain Development Project sponsored by the Islamic Development Bank.
Besong Ogork Ntui has also been coordinator of the Rumpi Area Participatory Development Project in SOWEDA from June 2007 till its successful completion in December 2017.
With over 27 years of experience in the transparent management of agricultural, rural and conservation development projects, Dr. Besong Ogork Ntui is expected to bring a new impetus to SOWEDA that was created in 1987 to serve as a catalyst of development in the rural localities in the South West Region.
He previously served as sub-director in charge of the registry for cooperative societies and common initiative groups in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Yaoundé and Senior Agriculture Officer at the Korup National Park Project in Mundemba.
He holds a PhD in Developmental Studies obtained in 2017 from the Atlantic International University, Honolulu, Hawaii - USA.
Born in Widikum in the North West Region, Dr. Besong Ogork Ntui hails from Manyu Division in the South West Region.
