The thanksgiving service Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Presbyterian Church (PC) Molyko was attended among others by Professor Dorothy Limunga Njeuma, Senator Mbella Moki Charles, Magistrate Esembe Donald Malomba, Jacob Ngale Kinge, and Ngundu Francis among others.
The college of clergy was led by Rev. Fobang Christopher Tah, Parish Pastor of PC Molyko along with his two associates – Rev. Sobe Florence Ebango and Rev. Ngu Elizabeth Akwi. The thanksgiving service was also celebrated by Rev. Mrs Fobang Geraldine, Associate Pastor of PC Buea Town and Station Manager of CBS Radio Buea as well as Rev. Ngomo Dibo Mathias, Lecturer at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary (PTS) Kumba.
In his sermon on the theme “Thank You Lord”, Rev. Fobang drew inspiration from Psalms 100:4 to challenge the faithful to "Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving; go into its courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise him."
The servant of God regretted that human expect to be shown gratitude for their good deeds, but often times fail to thank God who sacrificed the life of His son Jesus Christ.
"Some of us make promises to God when things are rough but are quick to run away from his presence when things are going well," Rev. Fobang preached.
Mounting the rostrum after a populous thanksgiving procession, Elder Etonde Mbua said they were thanking God for 30 years in marriage and the blessings thereof.
"God has blessed us. He has multiplied us in numbers and means,” the celebrated educationist said before announcing that her family had donated a band to the congregation as part of their thanksgiving offering.
“We can't recount all our blessings but we have had so many successes. We have been blessed with an accountant, engineer, and a medical doctor,” the practicing Christian cum politician said while holding on to her husband, Njie Peter Mbua.
Elder Dr. Mrs. Mbua nee Ngoto Hannah Etonde earned a B.A in English from the University of Yaoundé in 1992 and in 1994 graduated as teacher from Higher Teachers’ Training College (ENS) Yaoundé. She would later further her studies at the University of Buea, graduating with a PhD in Educational Administration in 2017, after earning an M.Ed. in Educational Administration years earlier.
A member of the ruling CPDM since the 1990’s, Mrs. Mbua, has been president of Buea WCPDM(WCPDM Fako III) since March 2007 and is member of the WCPDM National Bureau since 2011. She had before held other duty posts in the WCPDM in Buea such as Section Treasurer (May 2002 –march 2007) and Subsection president of WCPDM Soppo Mokongo (1997-2002).
She missed becoming Mayor of Buea in 2013 after the municipal elections. She lost to Ekema Patrick Esunge.
She taught English Language and Literature in Bilingual Grammar School (BGS) Molyko Buea (December 1994-August 2000);taught ‘The Use of English’ at University of Buea (September 1995- July 2000); taught English & Literature at Central GCE Evening School Mevick Bilingual Grammar School Yaounde (January 1993 –June 1994) and at Inter Comprehensive College Buea(1992).
Mrs. Mbua has been Assistant Chief Examiner (O’ level Literature in English) from July 2008 to date), and had been a GCE examiner for O’ level in English Literature (1995-2008).
As a committed Christian, Mrs. Mbua has been an elder and lay preacher at Presbyterian Church Molyko –Buea; member of Christian Women Fellowship (CWF Molyko) and is President-General of Ndol’a Kristo Choirs Association of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC). She is currently the Chairperson of PC Molyko.
Mrs. Mbua is known to be an amateur actress, who has been member of both the Musinga Drama Group and the University of Yaoundé Theatre. She likes doing research on important subjects. She enjoys cooking and singing.
