Moukondo Daniel Ngande, Mayor of Tiko has abandoned his party the Social Democratic Front, SDF, ahead of Sunday’s Municipal and Legislative Elections, Cameroon-info.net has learnt.

Throughout the campaigns, Moukondo who became Mayor in 2013 on the SDF ticket has not been seen campaigning for his party, apparently protesting the fact that he was dropped from the list of candidates to take part in the Municipal Elections.

The Chief of Ebonji Village and former SDF Electoral District Chairman for Tiko however emerged at the campaign rally of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in Tiko Thursday, February 6, 2020. Though he tried to chew his words, he drove home the message that it is now time for the people to vote for the CPDM, and not the SDF because the SDF cannot expect to win elections without him.

“My councillors today voted me as the best mayor of the decade. But the funniest thing is this: How can FC Barcelona win the Champions League finals without Messi?

“Journalists have asked me many questions today. They want to know my message to the electorate now that I am not in the race. I told them that I came to power when people had the impression that Tiko cannot change. But I have made people to see that Tiko can change. So when you are voting, vote wisely. Vote those who will continue to make Tiko better than you want it. Don’t vote hawkers, people who will sell all your things. Vote people who have this town in their heart. Choose wisely.”

After Mounkondo’s address at the CPDM rally, the CPDM campaign team leader for Tiko, Senator Mbella Moki Charles said: “The father of the town has spoken. I want to promise Mr. Mayor that the legacy that he has highlighted in Tiko, we have the best men and women to sustain that legacy.”

To this, the SDF Mayor smiled, said “thank you” and nodded in approval. It is therefore clear that Moukondo’s romance with the SDF has been ruptured and it is only left to see him in CPDM colours in the days ahead.

“Let us change and sustain Tiko once and for all. It is an election that has to do with the soul of Tiko Subdivision. So, you should not joke with it. You should not play with it… if you make yourselves bananas, monkeys will eat you,” Mbella Moki said.

Mbella Moki went on to present the CPDM candidates, adding that the CPDM opted to present a more responsible parliamentarian for Tiko in the person of Prince Mokondo Stanley Findi.

Hear Mbella Moki: “The Central Committee sent me here to help you win back the Tiko Council. Not only to win back the council, but also to see to it that we bring you a more responsible parliamentarian for Tiko, not one who runs to Douala when things are hot. Not a parliamentarian who is negotiating to sell your patrimony.”
