The 2017 March Parliamentary session has opened in Yaoundé this March 13, 2017 with major absence, the famous MP for Jakiri in Bui division, Hon. Joseph Wirba.

The absence of the fire brand MP who gained widespread popularity after his intervention in the November session of 2016 and his stance on Anglophone problem was evident as speculations were rife that ‘Joe’ as he is fondly called had escaped to an unknown destination after it was alleged that his immunity would be stripped to pave way for his arrest.

According to The Post newspaper, Hon Wirba Joseph has left the country after having intelligence reports that the government was planning to arrest him. The Post reveals that Hon Wirba had a reliable source told him on January 19, 2017 that he was blacklisted for either assassination or arrest and he used the information to flee from the act of the unknown men.

According to The Post, Hon. Joseph Wirba wrote a letter to House Speaker Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril asking him for protection as a fellow MP because his life and his MP title were hanging on the pendulum of death.

Reports have it that the Southern Cameroon hero of recent times sneaked into Nigeria and was seen at the US embassy where he could move to the US where the President of North West Lawyers Association, Barrister Bobga Harmony is seeking refuge.

As at now the whereabouts of Hon. Wirba Joseph, Wilfred Tassang and Barrister Eyambe are not known even though both men have been writing from hiding and instructing people on what to do.
