Cameroonian-born US-based Ambazonia activist, Eric Tataw has held talks with Senator Mbella Moki Charles and Bishop Andrew Nkea of the Mamfe Roman Catholic Diocese during two separate encounters.

Bishop Andrew Nkea powered by the Church and the American Government met with Eric Tataw Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Hamilton Hotel in Washington DC while Senator Mbella Moki Charles of the South West Senate Constituency held talks with the activist with discussions revolving around the Major National Dialogue convened by President Paul Biya to run from September 30 to October 4, 2019.

They all assured him of his safety and each extended an invitation to the hard-core activists. In response, Eric Tataw said he had long given his proxy to Sisiku Ayuk Tabe Julius and other detainees.

At the end of the discussions with both delegations, Senator Mbella Moki and Bishop Nkea were all agreed that Eric Tataw is a tough nut to crack but has been considerate on the issue of dialogue.

Speaking to Cameroon-info.net Friday, September 27, 2019, Eric Tataw said he is not a warmonger and as such welcomes any initiative that will end the “genocide” on-going in Cameroon’s North West and South West Regions.

“I told them that I am not a warmonger and as such, I am not against dialogue. I cannot insist on anything that does not exist. The genocide in Southern Cameroons must end on the dialogue table and the only one we have for now is that called by Mr. Paul Biya in Yaoundé.

“Although the appellation Major National Dialogue is vexing and the choice of Yaoundé as venue inconvenient, the choice of the Chairman and the Spokesman who are all Biya’s hand-clappers leaves me with doubts. In any case, I count greatly on international observers like the US Embassy in Yaoundé, the Canadian High Commission, the British High Commission, the United Nations, the CEMAC commission and other international organisations.

“Based on the fact that I have special trust in the United States, her embassy in Cameroon and other diplomatic institutions in Yaoundé, I cannot overemphasize on the issue of appellation, venue, chairman and spokesman.

“However, because in the past they have arrested people on the dialogue table like they did to Barrister Agbor Balla and Dr. Fontem Neba, and because the international community has been unable to get President Biya to free our leaders, H.E. Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and co., I have doubts that my security will be guaranteed if I come to Cameroon.

“That notwithstanding, I want dialogue so badly. I am not a warmonger. I know that dialogue is imperative to bring peace anywhere there is conflict in the world. I feel that in all fairness, we must accept any dialogue, reason why I hand my proxy to those closest to the venue of the Major National Dialogue. Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and all those in prison will better represent me.”
