Hein Père’ crooner, Stanley Enow, has continued with his award winning spree with the latest being the Best New Act prize won at the 2014 MTV African Music Awards (MAMA) held in South Africa’s southeastern city of Durban on Saturday.
The ‘TumbuBoss’ crooner was the first winner of the show, aired live from the Durban International Convention Centre, in the southeastern city of Durban. MTV African Music Award celebrates pan African music, youth culture and talent, and winners are chosen by public vote. The awards were first staged in 2008 and have each year recognised iconic musicians from across the continent.
Late last year, Stanley Enow won Best Artist of the Year during the maiden edition of Cameroon Academy Awards better known as SONNAH Awards. Established in 2013, SONNAH is dedicated to the promotion, recognition and celebration of exceptional achievements in Cameroonian film, music, fashion, sport, television and digital media.
Enow alongside his compatriot Sine have both been nominated again for African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in the category ‘Best Male Central Africa.’ They will face opposition from Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Ferre Gola (Congo), Privato “Lill’P” Niyintunze (Burundi), Anselmo Ralph (Angola) all nominated in same category.
The award show is scheduled to take place on July 26, at the Eisemann Centre, Richardson, Texas in the USA. The event will not only celebrate the music of Africa, but celebrate the unique sounds, culture and artistes who tell the stories of the continent as a whole.
