The head of state, Paul Biya, will preside over the military parade and the civil parade on the Boulevard of May 20 in Yaounde.

FRIDAY, 19 MAY 2017

11.00 a.m. - Air show.

- Dropping of paratroopers at the Air Base.

6.00 p.m. - Beginning of torchlight procession.

8.00 p.m. - End of torchlight procession and dispersal of participants.

1 - Yaounde 1 Subdivision

Assembly Point: Government School Etoudi.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

MARCH PAST AT THE 20TH MAY BOULEVARD

  1. Attire:

- Gentlemen: Dark suit or traditional ceremonial.

- Ladies:     Skirt suit, formal dress or traditional ceremonial.

  1. Access Cards

There shall be three kinds of cards:

  • VIP Stand:

- White Cards.

- Latest time of arrival: see programme for the time of arrival of personalities.

  • Stand A:

- Yellow Cards.

- Latest time of arrival: 7.45 a.m .

  • Stand B :

- Blue Cards.

- Latest time of arrival: 7.45 a.m.

Access cards to the stands are personal and non-transferable.

They must be presented at the various checkpoints set up at the 20th May Boulevard.

 

  1. Passes for vehicles

There shall be eleven kinds of passes allowing access to

specific parking areas on the ceremonial grounds:

  • MG (white colour):

- Members of Government.

  • BS (white colour):

- Bureau Members of the Senate.

  • BAN (white colour):

- Bureau Members of the National Assembly.

  • BCES (white colour):

- Bureau Members of the Economic and Social Council.

  • CS (white colour):

- Members of the Supreme Court.

  • CMD (white colour):

- Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps and

Representatives of International Organizations.

  • CC-RDPC (white colour):

- CPDM Central Committee Members.

  • PP/AN-S (white colour):

- Leaders of Political Parties represented in the National Assembly and in the Senate.

  • SPECIAL PRC (red colour):

- Staff of the Presidency of the Republic and Special Guests.

  • PARKING ANNEXES (yellow colour):

- Other Guests .

  • ORGANIZATION (pink colour) - Technical Services.
  1. Parking at the 20th May Boulevard

Ten parking lots numbered 1 to 10 have been provided at the 20th May Boulevard. These parking lots shall be open to vehicles of personalities in the following order:

I - VIP PARKING AREAS

Parking N°. 1     - The President and Bureau Members of the

Senate - The President and Bureau Members of the National Assembly - The Prime Minister, Head of Government.

Parking N°. 2     - The Chairman and Bureau Members of the Economic and Social Council.

 Parking N°. 3     - The First President and Members of the

Supreme Court.

Parking N°. 4 - Special Guests.

Parking N°. 5 - Members of Government.

Parking N°. 6 - Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Representatives of International Organizations and Consuls.

Parking N°, 7     - CPDM Central Committee Members,

Leaders of Political Parties represented in the National Assembly and in the Senate.

Parking N°. 8     - Senior Officials of the Presidency of the Republic.

Parking N°. 9     - Generals and Chiefs of Staff.

Il - ANNEX PARKING AREAS

Parking N°. 10     Other personalities with vehicles bearing «PARKINGS ANNEXES» passes.

RECEPTION AT UNITY PALACE

  1. Attire: - Gentlemen: Dark suit or traditional ceremonial.

        - Ladies:     Skirt suit, formal dress or traditional ceremonial.

  1. Invitation Cards: They are personal and non-transferable.

They shall be presented at the entrance to Unity Palace and where necessary in the Banquet Hall.

Bearers of beige-coloured invitation cards shall have access to the Banquet Hall; bearers of green-coloured cards shall have access to the garden.

  1. Parking Lots: There are two public parking lots at the esplanade of Unity Palace and two parking lots inside Unity Palace.

Outside the Palace:

(a) “Est” parking lot reserved for guests with «PARKING Est” passes (green).

* Guests with these passes, who have a driver, are authorized to go into Unity Palace by car. The driver shall drop them off and return to the parking lot corresponding to his pass outside the Palace.

(b) «Ouest» parking lot

* Guests with «PARKING OUEST» passes (blue), shall park their vehicles at the Esplanade. In case of good weather, they shall have access to the Palace on foot. In the event of rainfall, buses shall ferry guests from the Esplanade to Unity Palace.

Inside the Palace:

(a) the «ABORDS DES FONTAINES» parking lot

* The «ABORDS DES FONTAINES» parking lot is situated in the main yard of Unity Palace, in the area around the fountain. This parking lot is reserved for vehicles of the following VIPS with purple passes:

The President of the Senate; the President of the National Assembly; the Prime Minister, Head of Government; the Chairman of the Economic and Social Council; the First President of the Supreme Court and the Procureur General of the said Court; the Minister, Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic; and the Minister, Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic.

«ADMINISTRATIONS A and B» parking lots

«ADMINISTRATIONS A and B» parking lots shall be reserved for officials of the Presidency of the Republic with the orange pass.

N.B. Passes shall be pasted on the windshield of the vehicle for easy identification and ushering of guests.

- Mobile phones are not allowed within the premises of Unity Palace.
