The realization of the 2017 budget, the Anglophone crisis and the controversy about the organization of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2019 were top positions in the columns of the Cameroonian newspapers this Wednesday.

The financial evaluation and reports carried out by the competent departments of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and land management. It read that more than half of the projects registered under the Public Investment budget (BIP) 2017 were achieved in the first quarter, registring a percentage of  52.83%.

This figure is nevertheless declining from the same period in 2016 (56.84%), particularly due to the difficult economic situation, but also the insecurity that persists in the Far North and even in the East Region, bordering Central African Republic.

The state budget is carried out in a context of economic and monetary austerity in the CEMAC Sub-Region, characterized by a downward trend in economic activities that has pushed the Government to sign an economic and financial program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), "InfoMatin.

On the political front, and in the case of the Anglophone crisis, the Messager News paper denounces "the posturing of the government who has been to solve the deteriorated situation in the North-West and South-West Regions, instead decided to send missions abroad, while continuing to militarize these areas, by making arbitrary arrests and all forms of intimidation.
